(7.) In this book were written all the incidents we heard from his holy mouth — as well as several conversations and stories that we heard from his holy mouth. For his conversation is entirely Torah. And also several incidents that occurred between him and his close ones. And from all of them the discerning person will understand the immensity of his greatness and the power of his exceedingly, exceedingly wondrous holiness — beyond what the mouth can speak or the heart think. And the discerning person at this time should be silent and still. And every one according to what he estimates in his heart... ...And every one according to what he estimates in his heart will understand a little, a little — less than a drop from the great sea. And even what we heard and saw — we have presented here only a little, a little, by hint. And because of the great division that multiplied against him very much, we are forced to place a barrier upon our mouth — not to tell of his praise. And the greatness of his essence and his holiness and his exaltedness — they are uplifted and elevated very far beyond our knowledge. But even this little-of-little that we merited to know and to understand somewhat — it is impossible to tell entirely, because of the great division — even though he was a benefit to the world. I only recorded this for the coming generations, and for the days to come toward us for peace — so that it not be forgotten from our mouth and from the mouth of our seed — so that the coming generations will know the greatness of the love of Israel before Hashem Yisburach, that in the last generations they merited to such pure and clear light — the hidden and concealed light. Fortunate is the eye that saw it. Fortunate is the ear that heard from his mouth his holy words.
